About Augment Professional Services (APS)
Augment Professional Services (APS) partners with leading organizations across the Energy, Technology, Utilities, and Engineering sectors to deliver specialized talent, consulting expertise, and project support. Our mission is to connect experienced professionals with organizations executing complex projects and critical infrastructure initiatives.

Position Overview
Augment Professional Services (APS) is developing a dedicated team of Industrial Vacuum Technicians to support ongoing and future turnaround and maintenance activities across refinery, olefins, and petrochemical facilities. These roles are essential to executing critical shutdowns and project-based work in highly regulated and safety-sensitive industrial environments.

Industrial Vacuum Technicians will perform cleaning, material removal, and environmental support services using specialized vacuum equipment in refinery and petrochemical settings. Work may include entry into tanks, vessels, and confined spaces to remove sludge, debris, and byproducts generated during operations. Technicians must be comfortable performing physically demanding, dirty work in hazardous environments, including exposure to heat, chemicals, and industrial residues.

This position requires the ability to travel extensively to various job sites and support 12-hour shifts, often working 7 days per week during active turnaround events. Assignments are project-based by nature, aligned with client shutdown schedules. APS is building a reliable, safety-focused workforce that can be mobilized quickly to support high-priority industrial projects.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated industrial experience within refineries, petrochemical plants, olefins units, or similar heavy industrial environments
  • Proven ability to operate or assist with industrial vacuum equipment and material handling processes
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding and dirty work, including tank cleaning, sludge removal, and confined space operations
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in hazardous conditions
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to wear and work in full PPE, including respirators, chemical suits, and protective gear
  • Willingness to travel to multiple job sites and work extended schedules, including 12-hour shifts and 7 days per week during turnarounds
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and work effectively in high-risk, team-based environments

Preferred Experience / Qualifications

  • Prior turnaround or shutdown experience in oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical facilities
  • Current TWIC card
  • Confined Space Entry, HAZWOPER, or other relevant industrial safety certifications
  • Experience with hydroblasting, industrial cleaning, or environmental services
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to perform in fast-paced, deadline-driven project environments
