ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Category Manager leads Malarkey's Indirect Procurement function by partnering with internal business leadership, functional teams, and key stakeholders to execute Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, and Supplier Relationship Management initiatives. This role is responsible for managing indirect spending, strengthening supplier partnerships, and ensuring service expectations are met at the most competitive cost.

This position will be located in: Dundee, MI; Nashville, TN; or Plano, TX.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Leads and supports indirect procurement activities across all Malarkey locations, including but not limited to MRO, services, material handling fleet, and related categories.
  • Analyzes and monitors markets, supplier trends, and business conditions to inform sourcing strategies, support execution, mitigate risk, and identify competitive opportunities.
  • Manage and improve supplier performance, including initiating and supporting new supplier qualifications to optimize the supply base, achieve cost savings, and strengthen supply security.
  • Collaborate and partner with other Amrize businesses where appropriate to maximize our leverage and share best practices.
  • Supports budget development and planning for assigned categories.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to assess business requirements, evaluate internal and external data, and communicate relevant insights and recommendations.
  • Develops and implements sourcing strategies, including negotiating supplier contracts in partnership with Legal.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and negotiates supplier proposals while managing supplier relationships to support business objectives.
  • Implements purchase agreements by communicating terms and expectations to stakeholders in a timely manner and monitoring contract performance.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with applicable safety, quality, environmental, and business requirements.
  • Continuously develops alternate sources of supply to reduce single-source risk, increase competition, and improve value.
  • Communicates sourcing activity updates, project status, and key decisions to stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Implement procurement strategies across the organization to realize negotiated savings, improve compliance, and support business goals.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree

Field of Study Preferred: supply chain, procurement, business, finance, engineering, or a related field

Required Work Experience: 5 years of experience in strategic procurement and business operations.

Travel Requirements: 20%

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in building products or a related manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience with Ariba, AX, and SAP is preferred.
  • Advanced planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
