Job Title Assistant Manager (Procurement)
The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the Connector System. Support and mentor team members in best practices, escalation, negotiation, performance etc. Set cost reduction targets to suppliers, track performance and report results to Management. Ideal candidate should be self-motivated and understanding of design requirements to review vendor capabilities that may lead to cost savings opportunities. Support in other functions within WH Purchasing as determined by Mgt.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish cost reduction targets for provisional component contribution. Track, measure, report monthly to ensure targets are being met.
  • Provide strategic guidance, mentorship, set objectives, and complete performance evaluations of provisional team. Foster professional growth aligning efforts with SEWS objectives. Enhance, grow Buyer skill set in negotiation, PM, & compliance.
  • Support development and implementation of procurement policies alongside Purchasing Management. Serve as escalation to team with suppliers or others if commercial support is required.
  • Implementation of roadmaps ideas and completion of VA/VE ensuring cost savings. Coordination with DE, QA, and other related departments as needed to achieve result.
  • GPA (Global Purchasing Activity) Provide support in organizing and coordinating all activities of the global team to ensure
  • alignment and effective execution
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on technical capability, quality, and cost. Conduct supplier audits for development and to maintain as a strategic supplier
  • Participate in design reviews to provide input on feasibility and supplier capability. Cross functional review with Quality, Engineering, and Material Control as needed
  • Work with Program Management and Engineering teams on new product launches, prototypes, and tooling requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field (Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, etc.)
  • 8-10 years' experience Purchasing, Sales, Contract Mgt, (negotiation a plus)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (component drawings, specifications, injection molding, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office, Team First Environment
  • Travel required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, (Strong Excel)
