The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony represents descendants of three Great Basin Indigenous peoples: the **Numu (Northern Paiute)**, **Newe (Western Shoshone)**, and **Washeshu (Washoe)**. Your responsibilities will include preparing, purchasing, storing, and serving nutritious meals to children in accordance with program guidelines.   • Maintains clean and sanitary kitchen, storeroom and dining area.
  • Assists in maintaining all equipment in proper working order.
  • Assists with program related record keeping and monitoring as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the SFSP Coordinator & Head Cook., Purchases, receives and stores food and supply items used for SFSP.
  • โ€ข Perform other related duties as assigned by either SFSP or Lead Cook.
  • โ€ข Attend preservice and required trainings: Food Handlerโ€™s and SFSP Orientation (Date TBA).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work with youth.
  • Valid Nevada Driverโ€™s license preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Indian preference applies.
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation and health procedures.
  • Knowledge food preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of program regulation and record keeping.
  • Knowledge and experience in quantity cooking.
  • Knowledge of Supervisor techniques and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile records.
