Job description

About the Role:
Community Health Centers, Inc. (CHC) is seeking an experienced OB/GYN Physician to provide hospital-based labor and delivery coverage on an independent contractor (1099) basis. This opportunity does not create an employment relationship and is not offered through an agency.

This is a hospital-based, professional services role only and does not include outpatient clinic responsibilities.

CHC is a federally qualified health center. All deliveries occur at AdventHealth Orlando. The independent contractor physician will provide professional medical services to CHC obstetric and gynecology patients who present to the hospital, including rounding and delivery care. Occasional emergent surgical procedures may be required. Backup assistance is available through an onsite hospitalist group.

Schedule:
  • 24-hour hospital coverage periods (8:00 a.m. โ€“ 8:00 a.m.).
  • Up to 5 hospitals 5โ€“24-hour calls or 10- 12 hours hospital call shifts per month.
  • Coverage dates are established by mutual agreement and based on patient care needs.

Malpractice Coverage:
  • FTCA malpractice coverage is provided for hospital-based services performed on behalf of Community Health Centers, Inc., as permitted under applicable federal regulations.

Qualifications:
  • MD or DO with completed OB/GYN training.
  • Recent labor and delivery experience.
  • Active, unrestricted Florida medical license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges.
  • Professional, dependable, and patient-focused.
  • Board eligible or Board certified (required).
