Proficiency with common customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, VoIP systems, and chat or email platforms is often required. An Independent Contractor Customer Service job involves providing customer support services as a self-employed individual rather than as a traditional employee. Independent contractors typically handle customer inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and assist with orders on behalf of a company while maintaining control over their schedules and work environments. These roles are often remote and may require providing your own equipment. Since independent contractors are not employees, they are responsible for managing taxes and business expenses.
