To thrive as an Independent Contractor BCBA, you need deep expertise in applied behavior analysis (ABA), a master's degree in a related field, and active BCBA certification. Familiarity with ABA data collection platforms, case management software, and electronic documentation systems is essential. Excellent communication, time management, and self-motivation are standout soft skills for this autonomous role. Independent Contractor BCBAs often navigate challenges such as managing a flexible but variable schedule, handling caseload diversity, and staying current with best practices in the field. To address these, strong organizational skills, clear communication with clients and support staff, and ongoing professional development are vital. Balancing multiple clients independently can be rewarding, but it requires effective self-management and dedication to delivering consistent, evidence-based services.

What is an independent contractor BCBA?

An Independent Contractor BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is a professional who provides behavior analysis services on a contract basis rather than as a full-time employee. Independent contractors have more flexibility in choosing their clients and setting their schedules but are responsible for managing their own taxes, insurance, and business expenses.

Job description

$75-$95/hour

No Behavior Technicians- BCBA Direct 1-1 with a maximum of four clients- Proudly BCBA owned and operated.

At Positive Reinforcement, we are stepping away from the typical high client and high billable burnout cycle. When you join our team, we will assign you a maximum of four clients within close proximity.

You will create your own consistent schedule, providing direct, one-on-one services in the home for the family and client. Instead of being an intruder during your 10% supervision hours, you can form real caregiver relationships by being present 100% of the time during the intervention process.

By empowering you to design, implement, and modify your own intervention, we at Positive Reinforcement are proud of the strides our clients make through direct therapy with our expert clinicians. You will have the freedom to practice ABA without the stress of managing a team of behavior technicians or dealing with dozens of behavior plan updates a year.
