Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Active Landscape Architect license required, with the ability to maintain continuing education and state licensure requirements.
  • 10+ years of landscape architecture experience preferred, with strong experience in construction documentation.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape architecture principles, site design, construction methods, materials, specifications, and construction administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and coordinate technical drawings, grading plans, surveys, specifications, and plans from multiple disciplines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and client communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines while working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to mentor and guide staff while anticipating project needs and maintaining documentation progress.

Responsibilities
  • Lead landscape architecture design and documentation from conceptual design through construction documentation and administration.
  • Review, redline, and prepare landscape architecture drawings, specifications, details, and construction documents.
  • Consult with internal designers, management, clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals regarding landscape and hardscape design requirements and best practices.
  • Analyze surveys, topographical data, aerial photography, zoning requirements, grading plans, blueprints, and other project information to develop functional designs.
  • Coordinate landscape improvements with civil, electrical, architectural, and other disciplines to ensure cohesive and accurate drawing sets.
  • Sign and seal landscape construction documents and monitor projects to ensure design standards, specifications, and health, safety, and welfare requirements are met.
  • Perform construction administration activities, including contractor communications, pre-construction meetings, submittal and shop drawing reviews, site walkthroughs, and punch lists.
  • Develop project quantities, construction cost opinions, narratives, scopes, and fee proposals as needed.
  • Participate in and lead project meetings, client presentations, public involvement initiatives, and professional speaking engagements.
  • Mentor staff, provide technical guidance, maintain organized project documentation, track deadlines, and ensure project tasks progress efficiently.
