Independence Village of Waukee

Overview:

  • Position: Memory Care Life Enrichment Lead
  • Job Type: Full Time
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm or 9am-5:30pm
  • Pay: $17.50 per hour

Position Summary:

The Life Enrichment Lead is responsible for planning life enrichment activities that are beneficial and complimentary to the social welfare and interests of the residents of a senior living community. The Life Enrichment Lead will serve as an expert for personal programming for all residents within the community.

Required Experience for Life Enrichment Lead:
  • Minimum one to three years related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and holiday hours.
  • Compassionate towards the senior population.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration of team.
  • Proficient in general computer skills.

Primary Responsibilities for Life Enrichment Lead:

  • Actively support our 1440 culture and pillars.
  • Assist the Life Enrichment Director with the overall direction, planning, communication, and execution of activities and life skills in the Life Enrichment department.
  • Supports the Life Enrichment Director with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Complete all tasks and functions while maintaining a high level of resident safety.
  • Support in proper setup, clean up, and upkeep of activity areas and community spaces.
  • Support transportation by attending outings, coordinating relevant administrative tasks, and upholding safety practices.
  • Adhere to and uphold all standards in the Employee Handbook.
  • Provide direction to Life Enrichment support roles (e.g., LEA, Shuttle Drivers) regarding day-to-day activities and responsibilities.
  • Support functional responsibilities in absence of Life Enrichment Director as needed.

General Working Conditions:

This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasional travel to different locations may be required.
