KBR is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead and optimize our end‑to‑end logistics operations while driving operational excellence across transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution activities. This role is responsible for managing a team of logistics professionals, developing talent, establishing performance standards, and ensuring efficient movement of goods to meet customer and business requirements. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with proven experience building high‑performing teams, implementing process improvements, and collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver exceptional service, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement. The candidate will serve as the subject matter expert for Government Furnished Property (GFP) processes, ensuring accurate tracking, accountability, utilization, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of logistics coordinators, warehouse personnel, and transportation staff to achieve operational goals.
  • Manage daily logistics operations, ensuring efficient transportation, inventory movement, warehousing, and order fulfillment.
  • Establish performance expectations, conduct employee performance discussions, and support career development plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Resolve escalated operational issues and customer service concerns in a timely manner.
  • Lead change management initiatives and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer focus.
  • Manages reporting of Government property on contract to include CAP, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual Inventory reporting.
  • Accounts for all GFE equipment and material.
  • Maintains complete and accurate property accounting records covering the receipt, transfer, and current location of all GFE items.
  • Marks and coordinates marking directly with appropriate Government property accounting personnel.
  • Maintain accurate accountability records for classified and unclassified Government Furnished Equipment and Material.
  • Order, receive, and inventory parts, components, supplies, and equipment.
  • Pack and ship classified and unclassified items.
  • Performs a variety of duties relating to the occupational fields of engineering and logistics such as property accountability, material control, source identifications, alternate suppliers, purchase and expedition, equipment and material flow, and direct customer coordination.
  • Research source identification and alternate source suppliers for replacement parts for GFE equipment, as required.
  • Contacts vendors and suppliers for information relating to parts replacement.
  • May act as buyer and perform duties in accordance with established procedures.
  • Procures parts as necessary to meet tasking requirements utilizing various methods, being diligent to keep the Government’s best interest in mind with respect to researching low-cost providers.
  • Maintains requisition information for all parts, material, and equipment.
  • Establishes delivery and expedition schedule.
  • Maintains close follow‑up on requisitioned items to ensure meeting due dates and identifies late delivery items at earliest possible time.
  • Coordinates alternate solutions with engineering.
  • Maintain historical information concerning trends for late deliveries from vendors to influence future purchase options.
  • Classifies, rates, routes, traces, selects earners and transportation modes, and expedites inbound and outbound shipments in the most economical manner commensurate with delivery requirements.
  • Arrange for transportation and handling of special or unusual items.
  • Initiate and follow‑up on claims for shipping damage.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to facilitate the delivery of material to offsite locations using appropriately sized commercial vehicles.
  • Operate a company box truck as needed to support logistics operations, including the pickup, delivery, transportation, and transfer of materials, equipment, and Government Furnished Property (GFP) between company and customer locations.
  • Lifts or moves electronic equipment weighing up to 51 pounds independently, as well as move, with the assistance of material handling equipment, equipment/boxes more than 51 pounds.
  • On rare occasions, may be required to climb various structures with frill complement of safety apparatus.
  • May need to travel TDY to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in ordering, receiving, and inventorying parts components, supplies, and equipment as a Logistician. Experience is to include the packing and shipping of electronic equipment and use of material control procedures on Government contracts.
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience leading teams of 5+ employees. Demonstrated success hiring, coaching, developing, and retaining high‑performing teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of Government Furnished Property (GFP) and contractor‑acquired property processes, including receipt, stewardship, inventory management, disposition, and audit readiness in accordance with FAR and DFARS requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with JIRA for managing workflows, tracking requirements, updating and closing tickets, monitoring project status, and ensuring timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and logistics service providers preferred.
  • Must have TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Basic Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000. This range is for the Maryland area only. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign‑on bonus, relocation benefits, short‑term incentives, long‑term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
