Job description

Captain - 72' Pershing Motor Yacht (Private) *U.S. FLAGGED VESSEL - only candidates with valid US passport with be considered* Start Date: July 2026 Homeport: Miami, Florida Berthing arrangements: Marina in Miami Beach Cruising Area: South Florida & Bahamas Flag: U.S. Program: Private | Single Season (October-May) The Opportunity We are seeking a Captain for a 72' Pershing motor yacht

Preference will be given to candidates currently based in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. This is a non-liveaboard position, and candidates must have their own shore-based accommodation. The vessel is privately owned and primarily used for family or business outings, day trips throughout South Florida, and occasional weekend cruising in the Bahamas.

The owners maintain a relaxed, well-organized program with limited to no usage during the summer months. As the sole full-time crew member, the Captain will oversee all aspects of the vessel's operation, including navigation, safety, maintenance and crew coordination. While the vessel's interior, exterior, and engineering maintenance are performed by established contractors and day workers, the Captain will be responsible for scheduling and managing these service providers to ensure the yacht remains in exceptional condition.

The program also has an established network of freelance crew. Stews and, when appropriate, a mate are engaged for owner trips, with crew selection coordinated by the Captain. The owner's EA works closely with the captain as support where needed.

From June through September, owner usage is minimal, allowing time for scheduled shipyard periods, preventative maintenance, and project planning. This is an excellent opportunity for a Miami-based Captain seeking a stable, long-term position within a professionally managed program. Requirements USCG 100gt or equivalent license required Valid U.S

Passport or Green Card in hand is imperative Previous command experience on a vessel of similar size Demonstrated longevity and stability in previous employment preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills Professional, personable, and service-oriented with the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion Fluent English, both written and spoken Able to provide verifiable professional references Willing to undergo a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check Valid STCW and ENG1 Benefits Salary: USD $95,000 annual base salary Bonus: Up to USD $20,000 annually ($5,000 paid quarterly) Health Insurance: USD $500 monthly stipend Food expenses covered while onboard Reimbursement for relevant professional training and certification (at owner's discretion)
