Job description

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • How to teach the fundamentals of basketball, implement the offensive and defensive systems put in place by the program head coach, and make in-game adjustments.
  • Ability to write a scouting report on opponents.
  • Well versed in modern basketball concepts, offensive spacing, man and zone defensive tactics and philosophies, and be knowledgeable of current best practices.

TIME COMMITMENT:

  • The in-season portion of the schedule runs from late October through March.
  • The normal week for a basketball season will consist of six days for a minimum of two hours per day.
  • Off-season requirements including weight training, camps, shootouts, and contact days occur during April, May, June, September, and October.
  • Coaches are expected to be present during breaks in the school calendar such as Thanksgiving week and winter break.
