Job description

The Frederick Flying Cows, in partnership with Basketball Scout AI, are offering 2-3 unpaid summer
internship positions for college students passionate about basketball, sports technology, and the global
basketball world. Basketball Scout AI: https://www.basketballscoutai.com/
Basketball Scout AI is an early-stage AI-powered basketball scouting and player evaluation platform. We
help players, coaches, agents, scouts, and basketball organizations make better decisions - across the
NBA, NCAA, international leagues, and every level of the global game. We are building toward our public
launch at NBA Summer League in Las Vegas (July 10-17, 2026), and we need smart, basketball-savvy
people to help us get there.
These are real roles with real responsibility. Interns will work directly with the Basketball Scout AI team on
content strategy, research, and community growth - and will come away with hands-on experience in
sports technology, basketball operations, and digital media that they cannot get anywhere else.
Basketball Social Media & Content Strategy Intern
POSITION OVERVIEW
Organization: Frederick Flying Cows / Basketball Scout AI
Location: Remote (Frederick, MD preferred; hybrid welcome)
Type: Summer Internship - Unpaid
Commitment: 15-20 hours per week | June - August 2026
Reports To: Zach Thomas (Head of Sales & Business Development: Basketball Scout AI)
ABOUT THE ROLE
POSITION OVERVIEW: Basketball Scout AI is building AI-powered scouting tools for the global basketball world - and we are
heading to NBA Summer League in Las Vegas in July (2026). Before we get there, we need to grow our
social media presence in a credible, basketball-authentic way.
We need someone who lives and breathes basketball to help bridge that gap - providing context, content
ideas, trend identification, and caption-level basketball intelligence so that our platforms sound like they
belong in the basketball conversation.
This intern will work directly with the Basketball Scout AI team to develop content strategy, identify viral
basketball moments, and help connect what is happening in the basketball world to our brand in smart,
credible ways.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ€ข Monitor viral basketball moments, trending clips, and breaking news across the NBA, college
basketball, EuroLeague, and major international leagues to tie viral basketball content back to
Basketball Scout AI in a natural, relevant way.
โ€ข Develop a basketball content ideas bank: timely hooks, caption angles, and storytelling frameworks
that connect what is happening in the basketball world to Basketball Scout AI.
โ€ข Build and maintain a weekly social content calendar aligned with the basketball world calendar - NBA
Draft (June 23), playoff milestones, international league finals, transfer window activity, Vegas Summer
League, and more.
โ€ข Build and maintain a Basketball World Calendar: a living internal document tracking major milestones
across the NBA (Draft Lottery, Draft, Summer League, free agency), college basketball (transfer portal
windows, coaching hires), EuroLeague, and major international leagues (Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece,
Australia, Latin America, China, and others). Research and document the international transfer window
and player movement calendar - when leagues start and end, when free agency opens, when
players begin looking for their next team, and when "season stacking" opportunities exist.
โ€ข Review draft posts and captions before they go live, providing basketball authenticity checks and
corrections.
โ€ข Help draft short-form copy: Instagram captions, TikTok text overlays, LinkedIn posts, and product
announcement language as Basketball Scout AI rolls out new platform features.
โ€ข Track which content formats are driving the most engagement
โ€ข Flag fast-moving news - trades, coaching hires, international signings, viral player stories - that
could be relevant for social content or outreach timing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข Active on Social Media including: Instagram, TikTok, X, and/or LinkedIn. You understand what makes
content pop on each platform.
โ€ข Strong writer - clean, concise, and able to match a brand voice.
โ€ข Self-starter who can surface relevant content proactively, not just wait for assignments.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN:
โ€ข First-hand exposure to how an early-stage sports tech company takes a product to market.
โ€ข Potential opportunity to attend NBA Summer League in Las Vegas (July 10-17) depending on
performance and availability.
HOW TO APPLY:
Submit your resume, a brief paragraph about your basketball background, and any relevant social media or
content examples to Basketball Scout AI via the TeamWork Online application portal. Applications reviewed
on a rolling basis.
