Job description

HOURS:  Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week                                                                                                  
 Hourly Rate: $31.96 – $38.96 (AFSCME Unified R9)                                       
JOB SUMMARY: Assists in maintaining County owned buildings, grounds, and equipment to preserve the buildings and to provide a safe and healthy environment for employee and clients.
ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:

  • Ability to follow both verbal and written directions
  • Ability to read and follow instructions to operate equipment
  • Considerable knowledge of electrical systems and components and at least 4 years of working on said systems
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, access to dependable transportation

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.
  1. Repair and maintain the plumbing, heating, electrical, and air-conditioning systems in county owned buildings
  2. Maintain landscaping
  3. Perform custodial work as needed
  4. Maintain sidewalks i.e., snow and ice removal
  5. Maintain exterior of buildings
  6. Paint and recondition offices
  7. Maintain daily work records
  8. Operate power equipment


QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or GED. Must have valid driver’s license.
Licensed Electrician Preferred – 4 years experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Employment is dependent on background check, criminal history, and drug screen. Applicant must complete County application form.

Reports To:                   This position reports to the Buildings and Ground’s Director
WORK LOCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift/carry up to and in excess of 50 lbs. Ability to climb ladders, crawl in small spaces, crouch, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to work outdoors and under somewhat adverse conditions.
