Job description

Flex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry, recently ranked 10th of the 150 Top North American Suppliers in "Automotive News." A growing and vital company, Flex-N-Gate provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals.
Scope of the Position
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing predictive and preventative maintenance tasks to machinery and equipment for an automotive facility. This is a 3rd Shift position, Monday night through Saturday morning 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to machinery and equipment using a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs as needed to minimize production downtime.
  • Understand and use computer software for documenting daily activities.
  • Operate overhead crane as needed to transport equipment.
  • Assist with improvement items that address customer Quality concerns or employee concerns.
  • Support production and production operators to ensure the ability to produce high quality, efficient products.
  • Act as troubleshooter for automation equipment and other software.
  • Read controls, drawings and design concepts.
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies with urgency and be able to work in excess of eight hours per day.
  • Comply with all safety expectations and contribute to a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED Required.
  • 3 - 5 years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Prior automotive experience required.
  • Proven experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation fields.
  • Experience in basic electrical troubleshooting preferred.
  • Craftsman or tradesmen who installs, dismantles and repairs machinery.
  • Must also be capable of a basic to moderate level of fabrication and ability to read hydraulic / electrical prints.
  • Computer experience.
  • Ability to read and work from Blueprints.
  • Strong trouble-shooting skills.
  • Good working knowledge of injection molding machinery and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow work schedule.
