Job description

The Logistics Manager oversees inbound, internal, and outbound logistics operations to ensure efficient material flow, on-time delivery, and cost-effective manufacturing support. This role manages warehousing, inventory control, carrier/3PL performance, and customer compliance (EDI, ASN, packaging, labeling). Responsibilities include logistics planning for new product launches, U.S. Customs compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and leadership of logistics, warehouse, shipping, and receiving teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all logistics activities including inbound materials, internal plant logistics, warehousing, and outbound shipments to customers.
  • Oversee outbound shipments, ensuring on‑time delivery performance and full compliance with customer packaging, labeling, ASN, EDI, and routing requirements.
  • Manage inventory levels, accuracy, cycle counting, and inventory turns to meet financial and operational targets.
  • Ensure efficient internal material flow including lineside delivery, material staging, and supermarket systems.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers to optimize freight spend and service levels.
  • Lead logistics planning for new program launches.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, including HTS classifications, import documentation, country‑of‑origin requirements, and audit readiness.
  • Develop, track, and report logistics KPIs (delivery performance, freight cost, inventory accuracy, productivity, etc.).
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics processes, material flow, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop all logistics, warehouse, and shipping/receiving personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations within an automotive manufacturing environment (Tier 1 or Tier 2 experience strongly preferred).
  • Proven experience leading warehouse and logistics teams in a production-driven setting.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Working knowledge of customer logistics and compliance requirements, including EDI, ASN, labeling, and packaging standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and drive practical solutions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally across operations, production, and customer teams.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with international logistics, including U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and import/export compliance.
  • Solid understanding of global supply chains and customs classification requirements.
