Import Export Compliance Coordinator: 

Position Summary:

This position will report to the International Compliance Manager.  The position requires a detail-oriented individual with good communication skills who has experience in US import and export Compliance.  The Import Export Compliance Coordinator will review and process the day-to-day import export activities to ensure compliance with US Import and Export regulations.  This position requires timely interaction with Customs Brokers, as well as frequent interaction with Purchasing and Customer Service.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform daily review of Safariland Entry Summary documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate with buyers to resolve valuation discrepancies
  • Coordinate with International Customer Service to correctly import returned goods
  • Maintain records as required by law
  • Prepare quarterly import/export reports, as required.
  • Daily review of Import Compliance mailbox to answer/resolve any requests for information
  • Daily review of shipments, pending import, to detect and resolve any issues
  • Preparation of Pro Forma invoice, when needed
  • Preparation of Foreign Shippers and Importers declarations pursuant to 19 CFR 10.1(a)(1)
  • Preparation of CBP Form 3311’s for importation of American goods returned
  • Assist in assigning HTSUS numbers to products
  • Review and approve export/import commercial invoices for shipments between the US and Mexico
  • Seek opportunities to understand company compliance activities to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as required and deemed necessary by management

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2+ years previous experience involving US Import or export activities required
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Professional Spanish-speaking and language capabilities a plus
  • Understanding of basic import export documentation requirements 
  • Basic understanding of HTS US classification
  • Basic understanding of USMCA qualification rules of origin as well as a basic understanding of the IMMEX program are both a plus
