Job Pay: $65,500 to $71,000

Job Type: Full Time/ Exempt

Department: Projects Department

Report to: Director of Construction

Location: Diamond Bar, CA

Business Hours: Mon- Fri, 9am – 6pm

Job Overview:

We are hiring a Construction Purchasing Manager who will be responsible for supporting the project management department by ordering products or materials. Duties include maintaining relationships with suppliers, vendors or wholesalers, placing orders for products based on individual site needs and tracking shipments from manufacturing locations to job sites or company warehouses. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
  • Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
  • Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.
  • Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
  • Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers.
  • Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.
  • Performing vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency
  • Using quarterly and annual data to determine purchasing needs and performing inventory management
  • Managing purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase records
  • Conducting ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendors
  • Research vendors and collect prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education /Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or at least three years of experience in related field required.
  • 3 years of Negotiation skills (Preferred)
  • 3 years of Purchasing Experience (Preferred)
