Job description

About the Role:
UNICARGO INC is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Import Operations Specialist to join our team in Kearny, NJ. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing international freight and customs processes for a dynamic logistics company. Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day import shipment operations from origin to final delivery
  • Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, and vendors to ensure timely cargo movement
  • Prepare, review, and process import documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and CBP entry requirements
  • Track and monitor inbound shipments, proactively resolving delays or discrepancies
  • Coordinate with customs brokers to facilitate smooth customs clearance
  • Provide exceptional customer service by keeping clients informed on shipment status
  • Maintain accurate records and update internal logistics management systems
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience in import operations, freight forwarding, or international logistics
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, Incoterms, and import compliance procedures
  • Experience with ocean and/or air freight import processes
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  •  Team player with a can-do attitude
