Global Trade Principal Specialist - Americas Customs (Remote)
Location: Remote (Reporting to Charlotte, NC)
Contract: 6 months | Pay: $42.50/hr | Start Date: 9/14
About the Role
Advance your global trade career as a Global Trade Principal Specialist supporting Collins Aerospace and RTX. This remote position empowers you to lead US import operations, drive customs compliance, and engage with cutting-edge trade initiatives in a highly regulated, innovative environment. You will play a critical role in shaping import processes, ensuring compliance with international trade policies, and supporting enterprise-wide customs projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily tactical import entry processes and drive customs compliance across multiple sites.
- Manage US Customs inquiries, data requests, and monthly dashboard metric analysis.
- Perform import declaration audits, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee refund tracking and optimize duty recovery strategies.
- Support Import Manager on projects, duty mitigation, and strategic trade activities.
- Maintain current knowledge of Section Tariffs, Anti-dumping, and Countervailing Duties.
- Utilize SAP GTS, SharePoint, Office 365, and web-based tools to streamline operations.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 5 years of US import/customs compliance experience, ideally in aerospace, defense, or a regulated industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of US Customs regulations: HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, entry documentation, and recordkeeping.
- Direct experience auditing import declarations and managing CBP inquiries.
- Proficient with SAP GTS or similar global trade management systems.
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years relevant experience, advanced degree with 3 years, or 9 years relevant experience without a degree.
- Must be a U.S. Person or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
Preferred Skills
- Licensed Customs Broker.
- Project management experience and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with Collins/RTX trade compliance systems (OCR, MKDenial, xClass, TEXPORT).
- Experience with duty refunds, recovery, and mitigation.
- Strong analytical mindset and proactive communication skills.
