Job description

Essential Job Functions
  • Execution of applicable KPI's per company standard to include "The Morning Routine." KPI's include air export and import milestones, LNR's, shipment's due, FNI's report, EDI bookings, pre-alerts to be posted, unaccepted pre-alerts.
  • Execute air import and export shipments following the standard procedures and processes involved with shipment execution.
  • Air Export-communicate effectively with shippers for pickup arrangement, bookings with airline carrier, documents audit / review, data entry of hawbs, mawbs, completing export files in TMF, printing and pouching, pre-alerting the destination, invoicing if applicable, tracking and tracing of master airwaybills, milestones monitoring and locking of files.
  • Air Import-receiving pre-alerts from the origin stations, applying costs for airport terminals, submitting documents to the brokers for clearance, data entry in TMF, dispatching shipments for deliveries, monitoring milestones and updating as needed, invoicing files, and locking.
  • Accountable for supervision and discipline of employees, and conflict resolution
  • Enforce policy and procedure compliance.
  • Train employees on job specific duties and develops employees through coaching.
  • Make suggestions and show initiative for process improvements.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and employees
  • Involvement with air export and import audits.
  • Assist airfreight manager with daily reports and other duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of the Import/Export industry & regulations preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to be a team-player and work effectively with senior-level staff.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, be proactive and be able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient at MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and be highly organized.
  • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced environment while providing inspiration to a growing team.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (verbally and intuitively) effectively with both customers and internal personnel.
  • Must be career-oriented, hard-working, quick learner and have excellent recall for past events/situations/numbers.

Physical Requirements
  • Job requires the ability to use vision, adjust focus and work on a standard computer screen.
  • Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.
  • Job will require presence on-site at the assigned work location.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED Required
  • Two to four years industry experience required.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES
  • Professional certification may be required in some areas
