Job description

We are Manifest.eco, a high-growth, sustainable third-party logistics start-up, shaking up the fulfillment industry by offering eco-friendly logistics solutions for eCommerce brands and pioneering Third Wave Fulfillment.

At Manifest, we believe that our Product is order fulfillment and the white-glove service that supports it. We focus most on whatโ€™s fundamentally important to our growing brand and design, implement, and deliver solutions to meet those needs.

Location: San Marcos, Texas

The Role:

Implementation, or the onboarding of new accounts, is critical to facilitating success of our partnerships with brands, both at the onset as well as long term.

The Implementation Specialist role supports this mission by executing high-quality, repeatable onboardings in close partnership with the Director of Merchant Experience. This role reports directly to the Director of Merchant Experience and plays a key role in delivering the onboarding experience as designed.

The Implementation Specialist supports Manifestโ€™s onboarding mandate by owning:

  • Merchant Education & Enablement: leading live training calls, working sessions, and walkthroughs that teach merchants Manifestโ€™s workflows, processes, SLAs, and system expectations, plus building the guides and recorded sessions that scale that teaching
  • Technical Implementation: executing technical implementation between merchant storefronts, ERPs, and Manifestโ€™s internal systems to support successful outbound shipping launches
  • High-Touch Early-Stage Account Support: acting as a primary point of contact for merchants during onboarding and early shipping to ensure a smooth transition prior to graduation to Account Management
  • Project Management: owning onboarding timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables, tracking progress across internal and external stakeholders, and proactively managing risks, blockers, and scope changes

The Manifest Implementation Specialist is an innate project manager and a natural teacher. They are highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven, with a strong ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams. They are also outgoing and energized by people: they would rather jump on a call than trade five emails, and they are comfortable leading a room they donโ€™t own. The ideal candidate excels at building structure in fast-moving environments and at making a warehouse process or an SLA definition land with a founder, an ops manager, or a customer service rep.

The Implementation Specialist will develop a strong working knowledge of Manifestโ€™s warehouse operations and workflows, particularly as they relate to the prescriptive use of our warehouse management system (WMS), ShipHero. That knowledge needs to run deep enough to teach it, not just use it. They will also gain hands-on exposure to merchant software platforms including online storefronts (e.g. Shopify), inventory management systems and ERPs (e.g. NetSuite), EDI platforms for wholesale (e.g. SPS Commerce, Orderful), and other middleware connecting Manifest systems with merchant technology.

The Implementation Specialist works two days per week in our San Marcos, Texas fulfillment center and three days per week remote. They report directly to the Director of Merchant Experience.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Merchant Training & Enablement: Run the live sessions that carry an onboarding, including kickoffs, workflow walkthroughs, WMS and portal training, SLA reviews, go-live readiness checks, and post-launch check-ins. Expect to spend a large share of your week on video with merchants, making sure every person who touches fulfillment knows how we receive inventory, how orders release and ship, what our SLAs commit to, and how to submit a request the right way the first time.
  • Project Execution: Own and manage a pipeline of multiple new brand onboardings concurrently, serving as the lead project owner and driving each project to its scheduled go-live date and successful stabilization.
  • Technical Configuration: Directly execute and validate all necessary system configurations and data mapping between merchant platforms and Manifestโ€™s WMS. Diagnose and troubleshoot API and complex data integration issues, then translate what happened into plain language for the merchant.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Maintain and continuously update comprehensive onboarding documentation, including SOPs, integration guides, quick-reference one-pagers, and recorded walkthroughs, and ensure all critical merchant requirements and details are accurately captured in our CRM/CS platform.
  • Internal Coordination & Leadership: Act as the primary technical and project liaison between Sales, Operations, and the merchant, ensuring clear communication, expectation alignment, and effective internal resource allocation.
  • Process Improvement & Scaling: Provide critical, actionable feedback and insights to the Director of Merchant Experience on areas for process automation, efficiency gains, and scalability within the defined onboarding methodology.

Weโ€™re Looking For People Whoโ€ฆ:

  • Are outgoing and energized by people. They pick up the phone, start the call, and would rather talk it through than trade five emails.
  • Teach naturally: they can explain a technical or operational process to a non-technical audience and know when someone hasnโ€™t actually understood yet.
  • Are comfortable leading a call with a room of merchant stakeholders, including executives, and keeping it on track.
  • Build trust quickly and hold a firm line kindly, including when the answer is โ€œthatโ€™s outside our SLA, hereโ€™s what we can do instead.โ€
  • Own end-to-end implementation cycles as a highly organized, strategic, and meticulous project manager.
  • Possess strong technical aptitude, comfortable with APIs, data structures, and complex software integrations.
  • Demonstrate strong ownership, accountability, and a proactive, decisive approach to risk management and problem-solving.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, embracing continuous improvement and process refinement.
  • Embrace and expect change.
  • Maintain composure and confidence under stress and constant change.
  • Possess grit.
  • Think critically to identify root causes of problems.
  • Champion merchants while advocating for the internal team.
  • Prioritize action over words.
  • Donโ€™t let perfect hinder progress (bias for action).
  • Step up and do the necessary work.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to keep learning.

What Youโ€™ve Done Prior to Manifest:

  • 2+ years of progressive experience in a customer-facing role such as Implementation Specialist, Onboarding or Enablement Specialist, Customer Success Manager, Operations Specialist, or Solutions Consultant, preferably in a SaaS, B2B, or Logistics environment.
  • Demonstrated experience running live training, onboarding sessions, or customer-facing demos, along with building the materials behind them.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple concurrent, complex technical projects with firm deadlines.
  • Deep familiarity with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento) and/or ERP systems is highly desirable.
  • Direct experience working with and configuring a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is a significant asset.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Asana, Jira) and CRM software.
  • The ability to self-motivate while being a team player, working toward individual performance goals as well as team goals.
  • A strong willingness to contribute in collaborative group settings.

Pay & Benefits

  • $70,000-$80,000 per year in On-Target Earnings (OTE) depending on experience
  • Full-time employment
  • Medical, dental, vision insurance coverage
  • 401k
