Job description

What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Team Lead – Implementations within our Corpay Payables division. This position falls under our Commercial Card Implementations line of business and is located in Brentwood, Tennessee.

In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert and lead resource for the Project Management team, helping Project Managers successfully navigate customer implementations, product and process questions, complex customer conversations, and implementation challenges.

This is an individual contributor leadership role rather than a traditional people-management position. You will report directly to the Senior Director and regularly collaborate with Project Management, Implementation, Commercial Card, Product, Sales, and other cross-functional teams supporting customer implementations.

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, training, and subject-matter expertise to the Project Management team while continuing to maintain direct involvement in customer implementation projects. 

  • Serving as a subject matter expert and primary resource for the Project Management team
  • Providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, and implementation support to Project Managers
  • Supporting Project Managers with customer conversations, implementation challenges, product questions, and process-related issues
  • Joining customer calls when additional expertise, guidance, or support is required
  • Assisting Project Managers in communicating complex product, process, or implementation information effectively to customers
  • Coaching Project Managers through challenging customer situations and helping identify appropriate next steps
  • Providing guidance when Project Managers encounter unfamiliar products, processes, or implementation scenarios
  • Developing and updating training materials, documentation, and other resources based on identified team needs
  • Identifying knowledge or training gaps across the Project Management team and helping develop solutions to address them
  • Sharing product, process, and implementation expertise to strengthen overall team capabilities
  • Partnering with Project Managers to troubleshoot implementation challenges and drive issues toward resolution
  • Supporting the development and ongoing success of Project Managers through knowledge sharing, coaching, and hands-on assistance
  • Leading by influence and serving as a trusted resource without direct people-management responsibility
  • Managing assigned customer implementation projects while maintaining approximately 30% direct project responsibility
  • Leading customer-facing implementation activities associated with assigned projects
  • Maintaining strong knowledge of Commercial Card products, implementation processes, and customer requirements
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams to resolve implementation challenges and support successful customer outcomes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve implementation processes, training, documentation, and overall team effectiveness
  • Promoting consistency and best practices across the Project Management team

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, implementation management, client implementation, or related experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing customer or client implementations
  • Strong knowledge of project management and implementation methodologies and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a subject matter expert, lead resource, mentor, or peer coach
  • Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills
  • Experience supporting or leading complex customer conversations
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and guide others without formal management authority
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to assess implementation challenges and help determine appropriate solutions or next steps
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with team members and customers
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information in a clear and understandable manner
  • Strong meeting facilitation and customer-management skills
