Job description

We’re excited to partner with one of our valued clients in Sebastopol, CA, to offer a direct-hire opportunity for a Construction Project Manager with strong industry experience. This is a highly collaborative work environment with a construction firm that has earned a reputation for its focus on sustainability and relationship-driven project delivery.

The Project Manager will plan, direct, coordinate, and budget activities related with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. They are responsible for conceptual development of a construction project and for overseeing the organization, scheduling, implementation, and risk management of assigned projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution and Scheduling
    • Autonomously Manage complete project budget, schedule, and scope.
    • Manage subordinate PM personnel on your projects.
    • Manage and meet project performance goals including Margin and Schedule quality and Risk and Project forecasting.
  • Preconstruction Management
    • Develop and provide comprehensive Pre Construction service as required to secure projects including: Permitting, Entitlements, Finance cost analysis, Schedule and phasing etc.
  • Contract Management
    • Negotiate and prepare pre con and construction contracts and contract revisions with support of COO.
  • Communication
    • Provide and coordinate project communications.
    • Ensure all necessary/appropriate proactive client communication, negotiations, responses, emails, schedules, etc.
  • Risk Management
    • Anticipate, identify and report on any project risk factors.
    • Collaborate with Accounting staff on project analysis as needed.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Mentor, manage and collaborate with Project Engineer's and PM,s work on projects you are assigned to including holding them accountable and monitoring job Report any issues to COO/HR.
    • Responsible for the direction, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of all construction labor and subcontractors and project Superintendent.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of standard construction means and methods from site work to finish.
  • Fluent in MS Project and/or construction Scheduling.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering (civil or mechanical) preferred.
  • Ten (10) years related experience, and/or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Financial accounting literacy.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to plan, supervise, evaluate and exercise effective management of the project team.
  • Ability with reading and understand Civil, Structural and Architectural plans.
  • Ability to complete quantity take offs from plans.
  • An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high standards and an appropriate professional image.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in industry software including but not limited to: Procore, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Bluebeam Revu, Dropbox, MS Project and MS Office.
  • Other training and/or certifications desired: OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
