Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager of External Implementation plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs, ensuring successful customer deployments. This position works closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers to develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk assessments while maintaining clear and effective communication.
Leading a team of Implementation Specialists, the Project Manager of External Implementation is responsible for overseeing on-site visits, managing project resources, and ensuring deliverables are met on schedule and within scope. Additionally, this role monitors key performance metrics, mitigates risks, and provides progress updates to leadership.
Schedule: Frequent travel, approximately 3 out of 4 weeks every month.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with internal project manager and stakeholders to develop project charter, project plan, timeline, budget, and communication and risk matrix.
• Responsible for scheduling customer on-site visits to assist in quality/sample review, stakeholder definition, program design, and all other related on-site deployment tasks.
• Manages and Directs work of functional team, including hiring, corrective action, performance appraisals and pay review, budget and processes.
• Ability to lead and motivate a large team, manage performance, and foster a collaborative and productive work environment in accordance with Wurth basic principles.
• Implement training programs to ensure staff are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge, including new employee onboarding.
• Manage workforce planning, staffing, and labor relations to meet operational requirements.
• Holds both internal and external stakeholders to objectives, timelines, information, and deliverables.
• Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for management and stakeholders.
• Responsible for leading team of implementation specialists during all phases of customer acquisition process.
• Ensure project budget adherence, scope of work achieved, and timely execution.
• Responsible for reporting out progress updates and implementation KPI's to management.
• Schedules regularly occurring project reviews with internal team to maintain continuity and resource allocation.
• Direct project correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and emails.
• Request any capital expenditures for project.
• Responsible for leading successful on-site deployment of new VMI programs.
• Manages cross functional operations project teams to successfully launch, revise, refresh or update CPSG customer programs.
• Assist new business development team in customer selling process
• All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferred.
• Project Management Professional or equivalent certification preferred, but not required.
• Six Sigma/Lean Certification, preferred.
• Experience and knowledge of Excel and Project management software, preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP or P21.
• Proven track record of implementation of small, medium, and large cross functional projects.
• Ability to communicate concisely at all levels inside and outside the company, both in written and verbal communications.
• Effective negotiating skills and the ability to influence your audience.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Action oriented with proven track record of achieving business goals.
• Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strategic thinker; uses creative and innovative problem-solving approach to achieve goals.
• Ability to travel up to 80% including limited international travel.
• Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
Compensation: Salaried role, starting at $65,000.00
Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus. An incentive bonus, if any, depends on various factors such as organizational performance.
