Project Coordinator - Prosecution - Human Trafficking
Salary - Commensurate with experience
The mission of the Department of Law is to serve the citizens of the State of Georgia by providing legal representation of the highest quality to the agencies, officers and employees of state government and by honorably and vigorously carrying out the constitutional and statutory responsibilities of the Attorney General. The position filled through this announcement will serve in the Human Trafficking section of our Prosecution Division.
Job Summary:
Project Coordinator will continue and expand a Landlord Engagement Project within the Human Trafficking Unit, under the direction of the Unit Chief. Analyst will work with partnering groups and agencies to identify Illicit Massage Parlors throughout the State of Georgia and will work with landlords to notify them of their tenants' activities. Duties include but are not limited to: utilizing databases and social media to conduct independent research; evaluating information provided by partnering agencies and determining the weight of crime indicators; collaborating with state and local agencies; and communicating with landlords.
Project Coordinator will coordinate and further additional projects such as: The Missing Child Model, The Eyes on the Road Campaign, and external engagements.
Project Coordinator will participate in Operation to identify missing juveniles utilizing latest technology.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
• Attending courses pertaining to the investigation and deterrence of Illicit Massage Parlors
• Evaluating evidence of illegal activity and making recommendations to Unit Chief based on research and analysis
• Using databases and social media to conduct research
• Organize collaborative meetings with state and local government entities
• Conduct formal presentations of program results to stakeholders as requested
• Create and implement policy and procedure based on best practices
• Collaborate with Federal, State and local law enforcement agencies on issues pertaining to investigative support and information gathering
• Mail informational letters and maintain responsive phone communication with landlords
• Refer cases for investigation when appropriate
• Identify missing juveniles
• Schedule and coordinate external engagements
Minimum Qualifications:
• 4 year college degree in criminal justice or related field
• Proficiency with computer programs and social media
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Exceptional research skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience collecting and analyzing investigative materials such as police reports and case files
• Experience investigating and locating persons using databases, social media and other resources
• Knowledge of current law enforcement databases and available computer programs
• Experience handling and organizing evidence
