Job description

The Implementation Engineer is responsible for the technical execution of customer implementation projects across OTAVA’s cloud, infrastructure, backup, disaster recovery, networking, and security solutions.

Working closely with the Manager of Implementation, Solutions Engineering, Technical Services, and Customer Success teams, this role deploys, configures, validates, and documents customer environments while ensuring projects are delivered on time and according to design.

The Implementation Engineer serves as a technical resource throughout the implementation lifecycle and provides a smooth transition from project delivery into ongoing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Execute customer implementation projects according to approved Statements of Work.
  • Install, configure, migrate, and validate cloud and infrastructure solutions.
  • Perform implementation activities for compute, storage, networking, backup, disaster recovery, and security services.
  • Participate in project kickoffs and technical planning sessions.
  • Ensure implementation milestones are completed on schedule.

Technical Implementation

  • Deploy VMware, virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Configure backup and disaster recovery environments.
  • Perform customer migrations with minimal disruption.
  • Execute system testing and validation before customer acceptance.
  • Troubleshoot implementation issues and coordinate resolution with Engineering teams.

Documentation

  • Produce accurate implementation documentation.
  • Update implementation runbooks and technical procedures.
  • Maintain project records within Jira and related project management tools.
  • Document customer configurations and operational handoffs.

Customer Engagement

  • Provide technical guidance throughout implementation projects.
  • Participate in customer meetings when required.
  • Communicate project status and technical risks.
  • Ensure customer expectations remain aligned with implementation scope.
