Here, you will find more than just a job-you will find purpose and pride.
Your role at Baxter
This is a unique opportunity to shape a first-of-its-kind role embedded at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), one of Baxter's most important long-term digital health partners. The hospital's IT landscape is evolving, and you will be the connective tissue-helping define infrastructure requirements, streamline implementation pathways, and ensure that new technologies across nurse call, mobile applications, and connected care are deployed successfully.
Baxter and MUSC are well into their first year of an eight-year renewable contract that includes a growing portfolio of health care products and digital solutions. This role offers the chance to build something foundational, influence enterprise level strategy, and collaborate with the Baxter MUSC Program Manager and Customer Success Manager to become the trusted voice of the customer within Baxter. It's an ideal fit for someone with hospital IT program management experience who thrives in ambiguity, learns quickly, and wants to make a meaningful impact on clinical operations and patient care.
This is an onsite position based at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina.
What you'll be doing
  • Working closely with the Baxter MUSC Program Manager and Customer Success Manager
  • Lead planning and execution of high-impact IT implementation programs across multiple hospital departments, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows and enterprise IT strategy.
  • Serve as the primary partner to senior IT and operational leaders at MUSC, building trust, transparency, and long-term value realization.
  • Direct cross-functional teams-including product, IT, clinical informatics, and vendor partners-to ensure seamless solution delivery.
  • Establish governance frameworks, manage risks, and proactively address barriers to deployment success.
  • Drive operational readiness, training strategy, and change-management activities to support system adoption and user enablement.
  • Provide oversight of system integration, data migration, and configuration activities, escalating technical issues as needed.
  • Monitor post-launch performance, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize utilization and outcomes.
  • Deliver clear, data-driven updates and recommendations to internal and customer executive sponsors.

What you'll bring
  • Deep expertise in healthcare IT, including clinical systems, electronic health record (EHR) workflows, and data integration standards such as Health Level Seven (HL7) and Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and influence C-suite stakeholders in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to balance tactical execution and long-range program planning.
  • Proven success navigating ambiguity, resolving escalated issues, and managing competing priorities.
  • Executive-level communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide programs using frameworks such as the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) or Agile methodologies, and tools such as Smartsheet or Microsoft Project.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, healthcare, business, or a related field preferred; master's degree preferred.
