Urgent Opportunity: Dynamic District Manager at Zaxby's

DEFINITION

Our District Managers are both Brand Ambassadors and Servant Leaders. They lead through influence and byexample. The District Manager is accountable for profitability, development of leaders, and operational performance while ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and system compliance in each location within their market. Each market is multi-unit. The District Manager works closely with marketing and recruiting to drive guest traffic and build internal talent pipelines of team members who are led and developed into future leaders.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direction and reports to Director of Operations.  Exercises direct supervision over a team of General Managers, assisting with constructive and timely performance evaluations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following;

  • Ability to supervise all areas of operations for multi-unit restaurants
  • Sets quarterly goals for each management team that are in line with ZFL and GHZ’s strategic plan
  • Develop strong action plans to achieve each of our KPIs 
  • Plans and prepares for each store visit with the intent to develop and uplift the team
  • Continuous recruiting for future talent that fits the Zaxbys Culture to build our bench
  • Interview, hire, evaluate, and retain restaurant management
  • Responsible for coordinating the activities and developing the professional abilities of the GMs, AMs, and future managers within each unit
  • Produces Letters of Concern and Reprimand for management when necessary and leads disciplinary meetings and terminations once proper groundwork for separation has been laid
  • Conduct monthly Brand Standard, Food Safety, and Financial audits of all locations
  • Possess a constant awareness of R&M needs in each of the locations and communicate those needs to the Director of Operations
  • Maintain a healthy relationship with vendors in which the line of communication is clear and open
  • Lead quarterly evaluations with GMs in which P&Ls are reviewed as well as the overall operational success of the unit in which they are entrusted
  • Analyze sales trends, identify sales patterns and opportunities for growth. Implement programs to capitalize on additional sales opportunities
  • Uses creative and innovative strategies to create and maintain community partnerships
  • Assist in introducing new products, procedures, equipment into each of your unit’s operation
  • Help plan and participate in GHZ meetings and events 
  • Possess candor with Director of Operations and GHZ when faced with roadblocks within district
  • Minimum of 50 hours per week
  • Maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES

  • Bachelor’s degree or related field experience required
  • At least one year of Above Store Management experience preferred
  • ServSafe certification is a plus

  • Restaurant environment; work with advanced kitchen and front-of-house operational equipment; hazardous conditions. 
  • Essential job functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, walking or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
