Education:
- Bachelor’s degree of science degree in Safety, Environmental or other relevant discipline, or associate degree in EHS preferred
- PHR certification a plus
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred
Position Requirements and Qualifications
- 8 years’ experience in Human Resources field
- 5+ Years in EHS leadership/management role is ideal
- Experience at an Automotive OEM and/or Tier 1 supplier is helpful
- Comprehensive understanding of U.S. employment laws and best practices
- Thoroughly understand regulatory requirements including OSHA and EPA compliance standards, as well as regulations related to storm water/wastewater, RCRA, PSM/RMP, Title V, CAA, CWA, Form R, Air Emission reporting and other federal, state, and local laws
- Must have knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, NIPA and HAZWOPER requirements
- Experience in risk management, ergonomics, personal protective equipment, industrial safety, injury, and incident investigations, reporting, auditing and training
- Thorough understanding and working knowledge of automotive plants processes/principles, company products, trade terminology and manufacturing processes is a plus
- Excellent presentations, delivery and facilitation skills, ability to engage an audience
- Ability to compile and concise visual reports in charts, graphs and table format
- Ability to exercise exceptional independent judgement and discretion with the ability to take initiative on assigned tasks without significant supervision, and be a successful member of a team
- Must be able to interact effectively and professionally with a variety of individuals at all levels within a multicultural environment and with outside agencies, venders, contractors, and regulatory representatives
Technical/ Computer Skills:
- Strong understanding of HRIS Systems
- Experience in ADP and SAP
- Proficient with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
