Job description

The Sales Data Senior Associate role sits at the intersection of data, and sales execution for MSIM's US Intermediary business. By turning sales data into actionable insight, the Sales Data Senior Associate helps leadership and the sales teams understandwhat is changing, why it matters, and where to focus next. The work directly influences advisor targeting, campaign effectiveness, and distribution outcomes, making this role a critical enabler of MSIM's growth strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Insight Generation

  • Transform data into insight and action by synthesizing industry, market, and product data from multiple internal and third-party sources to deliver forward-looking analysis that empowers US Intermediary sales teams.
  • Lead high-impact analytical initiatives supporting MSIM's distribution strategy across Mutual Funds, Separately Managed Accounts, Specialty Solutions, Alternative Investments, and Exchange-Traded Funds
  • Uncover and articulate sales opportunities through rigorous analysis, clear presentation of alternatives, and well-supported recommendations that translate complexity into clarity.
  • Identify and target growth opportunities by analyzing advisor behavior and sales trends, with a particular focus on MSIM's highest priority advisor and firm prospects

Partnership & Influence

  • Partner closely with Sales and Senior Leadership to identify, shape, and advance tactical distribution priorities, using data-driven storytelling to influence decision-making.
  • Proactively use AI to deliver insights and solutions by anticipating sales management needs and offering actionable ideas rooted in performance metrics, trends, and strategic objectives.
  • Use AI to connect data to advisor behavior and product demand
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for intermediary sales teams and leadership.

Business Expertise & Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Build deep expertise in the US Intermediary business, maintaining continuous engagement across sales, marketing, operations, and IT to stay current on business objectives, market dynamics, product developments, and evolving data capabilities.
  • Leverage intermediary sales feedback to refine data sets and advance AI-enabled solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred 3 -5 years of experience supporting asset management or financial services distribution, ideally within US Intermediary, wealth management, or advisor-focused sales channels.
  • Ability to think and communicate like a distribution professional-connecting insights directly to how intermediary sales teams prioritize, position products, and drive growth.
  • Knowledge of investment products, including Mutual Funds, Separately Managed Accounts, ETFs, Alternative Investments, and other specialty solutions.
  • Required: Practical, hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to drive productivity, enhance analytical output, and deliver business impact
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex insights into clear, actionable messaging for stakeholders across all levels, including intermediary sales teams
  • Proficiency in standard analytical and reporting tools: including Excel and PowerPoint, with experience leveraging data visualization and reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or similar) to produce executive-ready insights.
  • Experience with CRM systems is preferred (SalesForce)
  • Demonstrated experience operating at a Senior Associate level, with the ability to independently own analyses, manage deliverables end-to-end, and provide informed recommendations to managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative expertise, with experience interpreting large, complex sales and market data sets to uncover trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across levels, from sales partners to senior management. Experience in telling compelling stories with data, translating month-over-month changes, performance trends, and advisor behavior into clear, executive-ready narratives.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented approach, with the confidence to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and influence outcomes through data-driven insights.
  • Collaborative mindset and cross-functional fluency, enabling effective partnership with Sales, Marketing, Operations, IT, and Data Reporting teams.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $95,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
