Position Summary

The Solutions Architect serves as the critical bridge between Sales and Implementation, ensuring that every engagement sold is technically sound, clearly scoped, and set up for successful delivery. This role is responsible for translating prospect and client requirements into executable Statements of Work - acting as the technical authority throughout the pre-sales and pre-kickoff lifecycle.

Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Sales & Requirements Gathering
  • Partner with Sales during active opportunities to conduct discovery sessions with prospects and clients, capturing functional, technical, and integration requirements
  • Facilitate structured requirement workshops to uncover scope, constraints, data readiness, and stakeholder expectations
  • Evaluate client environments, existing systems, and data maturity to inform solution design
Feasibility & Solutioning
  • Assess gathered requirements against the platform's capabilities and the implementation team's delivery model to determine feasibility and risk
  • Identify scope gaps, red flags, or deal elements that require re-scoping, phasing, or escalation before contract execution
  • Recommend solution approaches, phasing strategies, and delivery timelines in collaboration with implementation leads
  • Serve as a gating function - escalating deals where requirements cannot be met as proposed before commitments are made to clients
Statement of Work Development
  • Author clear, accurate, and detailed Statements of Work that define project scope, deliverables, assumptions, exclusions, timelines, and responsibilities
  • Ensure SOW language is consistent with what Sales has promised and what Implementation can deliver
  • Maintain SOW templates and continuously improve documentation standards based on delivery learnings
  • Coordinate internal review and sign-off of SOWs prior to contract execution
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as the connective tissue between Sales, Implementation, Product, and the client during the pre-delivery phase
  • Participate in handoff meetings to transfer context from Sales to Implementation at deal close
  • Support Project Managers and Implementation Consultants during project initiation to ensure SOW fidelity
  • Provide feedback loops to Sales on deal structures, pricing assumptions, and scope patterns that lead to delivery challenges
QualificationsRequired
  • 5+ years of experience in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or implementation consulting - ideally in SaaS or PropTech
  • Demonstrated experience writing Statements of Work or similar scoping documents in a client-facing context
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical concepts for both executive and operational audiences
  • Experience facilitating discovery and requirements sessions with enterprise clients
  • Exceptional written communication skills - SOW authorship is a core deliverable of this role
  • Hands-on experience with REST API integrations, including working knowledge of HTTP methods, authentication patterns (OAuth 2.0, API keys, bearer tokens), request/response structures (JSON, XML), and API documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger)
  • Demonstrated experience with data migration projects, including data mapping, transformation logic, and format conversion across common structures such as CSV/Excel flat files, JSON, XML, and relational database exports (SQL)
  • Familiarity with ETL concepts and tools - ability to assess a client's source data, identify quality or structural issues, and define the preparation work required before ingestion or migration
  • Comfort reading and interpreting technical artifacts such as API specs, data dictionaries, field mapping documents, and integration architecture diagrams - sufficient to scope work accurately without needing to write production code
  • Familiarity with AI-powered platforms and workflows - comfort working with or scoping solutions that leverage AI/ML capabilities (e.g., natural language processing, predictive analytics, generative AI assistants); ability to set realistic client expectations around AI feature adoption, data readiness requirements, and change management implications during implementation
Preferred
  • Background in commercial real estate technology, property management platforms, or facilities/portfolio management software
  • Familiarity with ERP or data integration concepts (e.g., Yardi, MRI, JDE) and their typical integration patterns (batch file feeds, webhook events, API-to-API sync)
  • Experience working within a professional services or managed services delivery model
  • Exposure to project management methodologies (Agile, waterfall, or hybrid)
  • Experience with integration middleware or iPaaS platforms (e.g., Azure Logic Apps, MuleSoft, Boomi, Zapier) as a plus for scoping integration-heavy engagements
Success Metrics
  • SOW accuracy rate - reduction in change orders attributable to scope gaps or misalignment
  • Deal-to-delivery handoff quality scores (as rated by the Implementation team)
  • Time-to-SOW from completed discovery
  • Sales cycle contribution - win rate on deals where SA was engaged
What Makes This Role Unique

This is not a purely technical role and it is not a purely sales role. The Solutions Architect in this position owns the quality of the written agreement between what is sold and what is delivered.
