The Team:

The planning experts of the Professional Services team help financial institutions harness the full potential of Empyrean's Budgeting and Planning product through implementation services, consulting, training, and support. The Budgeting and Planning Software Consultant works directly with banks and credit unions to configure the solution, validate data, deliver training, and help clients build toward their ideal-state planning and forecasting process.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver successful implementations of Empyrean's Budgeting and Planning solution, taking clients from project initiation through go-live on a well-configured, sustainable model.
  • Translate each client's budgeting, forecasting, and planning objectives into an implementation approach their team can own and maintain.
  • Ensure planning models, driver-based assumptions, and forecast logic are configured to produce accurate, decision-ready results across net interest margin, non-interest income and expense, capital expenditure, and payroll planning.
  • Ensure client data supporting planning and forecasting is complete, reconciled, and reliable as the foundation for reporting.
  • Enable clients to produce and trust their budgets, forecasts, and variance reporting across the organization.
  • Equip clients to independently administer the solution and build their own reporting through effective training and knowledge transfer.
  • Advise clients on best practices for data management, reporting, and financial planning and analysis.
  • Serve as a liaison between the client user community and Empyrean's product management team, channeling client needs into product direction.
  • Apply AI-assisted tools and repeatable processes to deliver value more efficiently and consistently and contribute to improving those processes over time.
  • Safeguard sensitive customer data by following all applicable policies and controls and using approved channels for data transmission.
  • Perform other job duties and assignments as needed and directed.
Experience and Education:
  • Degree in finance, accounting, economics,or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in banking, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, or financial technology.
  • Solid understanding of the banking industry, accounting, and financial statements.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and experience working with large datasets.
  • Strong attention to detail and good planning and organization skills.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Comfortable following and improving structured processes.
  • Demonstrated AI literacy in a professional environment and sound judgment about when and how to apply it, including awareness of data-handling and confidentiality considerations.
Preferred Skills:
  • Working knowledge of bank financial planning concepts, including net interest margin forecasting, non-interest income and expense modeling, and capital and payroll planning.
  • Understanding of a bank's balance sheet and loan payment calculations.
  • Familiarity with fixed-income cashflow calculation and fixed income math.
  • Experience implementing planning or FP&A solutions at a financial institution.
  • Experience with financial data management, ETL tools, and Microsoft Power Query.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other data-analysis tools.
  • Prior consulting, implementation, or customer-success experience.
  • Experience building or improving repeatable, AI-assisted workflows.

Compensation:

The typical starting salary within the full salary range for this position can vary. Factors which may affect starting salary include geographic market, relevant skills/experience, education, and other qualifications. Select roles or locations are eligible for additional incentive plans which will be shared during the interview process.

Base Salary Range: $60,000 -$75,000
