Job description

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the / Manager of Imaging Services/ Lead Imagaing Assistant, and /or Charge Technologist and in accordance with established policy and procedures the Imaging assistant performs multiple jobs in the department.This includes clerical duties and procedures relating to in-patient and out-patient paper flow, file room, knowledge of PACS, digitalizing film, scheduling examinations and performs other related duties to ensure efficient and effective daily operations. This includes greets, directs, transports and ascertains the needs of patients and visitors all modalities in the Radiology Department.

Maintains a high level of initiative, dependability, and motivation and communicatates effectively and exhibits sound judgment in patient safety and treats all individuals with professionalism and respect.

Job Responsibilities

  • Greets visitors and patients, determines their needs and directs them to appropriate person or area. Completes patient processing by obtaining information necessary for forms/charts and department registration.
  • Assists non-ambulatory patients with transfer from bed to transport vehicle; appropriately drapes/covers patient to ensure privacy.
  • Performs any other duties assigned.

Education/Experience

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Excellent attitude, interpersonal skills and communications abilities necessary to interact with patients, physicians and other hospital associates.
  • Maintains CPR Certification.
