How much do imaging services representative jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 13, 2026, the average hourly pay for imaging services representative in the United States is $19.57, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.35 and $22.12 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the highest paying imaging job?

The highest paying imaging jobs are often specialized roles such as radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, or interventional radiologists, which require advanced medical degrees and certifications. Among imaging professionals, radiologists typically earn the highest salaries due to their extensive training and expertise in interpreting medical images using advanced tools and techniques.

What kind of jobs in media bring in $150,000 a year?

Imaging Services Representatives typically do not earn $150,000 annually; high-paying media roles such as senior media executives, media directors, or specialized technical roles like broadcast engineers can reach or exceed this salary level. These positions often require extensive experience, advanced skills, and sometimes certifications, and they work in environments with high responsibility and strategic influence.

What is an Imaging Services Representative?

An Imaging Services Representative is a healthcare professional who works within medical imaging departments, such as radiology, to assist patients and staff with administrative and clerical tasks. They are responsible for scheduling imaging appointments, verifying patient information and insurance, preparing necessary paperwork, and ensuring patients are properly informed about their procedures. They also serve as a liaison between patients, technologists, and physicians to facilitate smooth workflow and positive patient experiences. Their role is essential in maintaining efficient operations in imaging departments and supporting high-quality patient care.

What is the difference between Imaging Services Representative vs Radiologic Technologist?

AspectImaging Services RepresentativeRadiologic Technologist

Work EnvironmentHospital or imaging center administrative areas, patient scheduling, and supportPerforming imaging procedures in clinical settings
Employer & IndustryHospitals, clinics, imaging centersHospitals, diagnostic labs, outpatient clinics

While both roles are involved in medical imaging, Imaging Services Representatives primarily handle administrative tasks, scheduling, and patient support, whereas Radiologic Technologists perform the actual imaging procedures. Understanding these differences helps job seekers find the right role in the healthcare imaging field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Imaging Services Representative, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Imaging Services Representative, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of medical terminology, typically supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with radiology information systems (RIS), electronic health records (EHRs), and scheduling software is commonly required. Exceptional customer service, communication, and multitasking abilities help you excel in patient interactions and collaborate effectively with clinical staff. These skills are vital for ensuring accurate imaging appointments, maintaining patient satisfaction, and supporting efficient healthcare operations.

What jobs in the US pay 300,000 a year?

Imaging Services Representatives typically do not earn $300,000 annually; such high salaries are more common in executive, medical, or specialized technical roles. High-paying jobs in the US often include surgeons, anesthesiologists, corporate executives, and certain technology or finance professionals, often requiring advanced degrees, certifications, or extensive experience.

What are some common challenges Imaging Services Representatives face when handling patient records and how can they be managed?

Imaging Services Representatives often encounter challenges such as managing large volumes of sensitive patient records, ensuring privacy compliance, and coordinating timely access to imaging results for both patients and medical staff. To address these challenges, representatives must be detail-oriented, adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines, and use effective communication skills to resolve delays or discrepancies. Many departments provide ongoing training and utilize digital record systems to streamline processes and minimize errors, helping representatives maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

What do you need to be an imaging assistant?

To be an imaging services representative, you typically need a high school diploma or equivalent, strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and familiarity with medical imaging equipment. Some positions may require certification or training in radiologic technology or related fields. Physical stamina and the ability to work in a clinical environment are also important.
