While both roles involve sales and client interaction within the healthcare industry, the Imaging Account Manager primarily focuses on managing relationships and sales of imaging equipment, whereas the Medical Sales Representative often promotes a broader range of medical products. Understanding these distinctions helps job seekers target the right roles based on their skills and career goals.

What does an Imaging Account Manager do?

An Imaging Account Manager is responsible for managing sales and relationships with clients who need imaging solutions, such as medical imaging equipment or document imaging services. Their role includes understanding client needs, recommending suitable imaging products or services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction. They often work closely with technical teams to coordinate installations and provide training or support. Imaging Account Managers play a key role in both acquiring new business and maintaining long-term client partnerships.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Imaging Account Manager?

To thrive as an Imaging Account Manager, you need a solid background in medical imaging technology, sales expertise, and a relevant bachelor’s degree (often in business or healthcare). Familiarity with CRM software, PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems), and certifications in medical device sales are typically expected. Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation abilities, and the capacity to build long-term client relationships set top performers apart. These skills ensure effective promotion of imaging solutions, successful client partnerships, and achievement of sales targets in a competitive healthcare market.

Can I be an imaging account manager with no experience?

Imaging account managers typically need some experience in sales, customer service, or technical support related to imaging technology. While entry-level positions may be available, having relevant skills or certifications can improve chances of being hired without prior experience.

How does an Imaging Account Manager typically collaborate with healthcare providers and internal teams to drive sales success?

Imaging Account Managers work closely with healthcare providers, such as hospitals and clinics, to understand their imaging equipment needs and recommend suitable solutions. They also coordinate with internal teams like product specialists, technical support, and service engineers to ensure seamless product demonstrations, installations, and after-sales support. Effective collaboration is key, as it helps address client concerns promptly and fosters strong, long-term business relationships. Regular communication and teamwork are essential to achieving sales targets and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Job description

Job Type
Full-time
Description
Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our growing practice includes 190 radiologists, 40 advanced practice providers, and 180 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion. We provide services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan.
What we do: ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in southwest Michigan. Corewell Lakeland was recently named one of the nation's 15 Top U.S. Health Systems by Truven Health Analytics. This study evaluates health care systems on five areas: inpatient outcomes, process of care, extended outcomes, efficiency, and patient experience.
What we are looking for: We are currently accepting applicants for a full time radiologist with an interest in general radiology and breast imaging. While the main focus of the position will be breast imaging there will also be non-breast imaging shifts. These shifts can be general or in some other area of interest such as body imaging. This position will be a combination of on-site shifts in St. Joseph and remote shifts from home. We have adjusted our on-site hospital shift hours to provide parity with work from home shifts in our schedule. The on-site hours are typically 8 to 4. Our standard schedule positions work 39 weeks and 11 weekends and have 13 weeks' vacation. We could also consider an alternate schedule track candidate which would require no nights or weekends.
Responsibilities:
• Digital mammography, tomosynthesis, and breast ultrasound
• Stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies and needle localizations
• General radiology
Why is our practice unique? ARS is a 100% physician owned and managed practice. We are committed to remaining independent. Our physicians enjoy the benefits of private practice with an academic focus. In affiliation with Michigan State University College of Medicine, our radiologists have opportunities to teach and mentor residents in Grand Rapids and pursue research if desired. Due to the size and breadth of the healthcare systems we support, diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled.
Compensation/Benefits: We offer a 50K recruitment incentive (sign on bonus), competitive compensation plan, stipends for on-site shifts, and opportunities for additional shifts on a month to month basis. Our physicians pay $0 for single or family medical/dental/vision coverage and enjoy an $18,000 medical reimbursement account annually. We also contribute the maximum amount allowed to the 401K plan ($70,000 in 2025). We offer 13 weeks of vacation for our standard track positions and we have a brand new 6-week paid parental leave benefit!
Why do you want to live here? St. Joseph is located on the Lake Michigan shoreline and considered one of Michigan's most popular beach towns. St. Joseph is the Berrien County seat, home to Whirlpool Corporation and located only 90 miles from downtown Chicago. This growing resort community welcomes visitors with brick roads, unique restaurants and a wide array of shopping. The area has quality public school system s, gorgeous sand dunes, parks , and other natural amenities. It is surrounded by lush countryside that produces some of the nation's finest orchards and vineyards.
Requirements
• Proficient in all aspects of breast imaging including breast procedures
• American Board of Radiology or AOBR certified or Board-Eligible
• Prefer completion of a breast (or breast/body) imaging fellowship OR significant experience in breast imaging/procedures
