We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our corporate office in Aliso Viejo, CA. This is an in-office based position to start and then offers hybrid flexibility after training.
Job Summary
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, balance sheets, profit and loss statement and other related reports and other special projects as assigned. Kyuden Energy Partners provides accounting services for various entities, making multi-tasking skills essential as some entities will have a simultaneous month-end close.
Key Responsibilities
  • Processing balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements in accordance with legal requirements and company accounting and financial guidelines.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Assist with reviewing expenses, receivables, payroll records etc. as assigned.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  • Backup accounting department personnel as needed including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and during planned and unplanned absences
  • Assists upper management in maintaining and updating budgets
  • Assists in addressing audit issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance/ accounting or equivalent years of related work experience.
  • 1-4 years of experience in a similar accounting/ finance capacity is preferred. Fresh graduates with accounting degree are welcome to apply.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices to perform required accounting activities and financial analyses
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • CPA or other professional certifications and utility specific training desired, not required
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized work.

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting.
  • This role routinely involves using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
