In addition to our general education program, we offer an extremely robust self-contained special education program (FIRE) as well as a self-contained gifted program (SPARK) to ensure all student needs are met. Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and certified online self-contained special education teacher to join our team of dedicated educators. This position requires the teacher to work closely with students in a virtual setting to facilitate engaging lessons, provide individualized support, and monitor student progress. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about online education, skilled in using digital learning tools, and committed to fostering a collaborative and interactive virtual classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging, and interactive online instruction in alignment with standards, curriculum, and student learning needs.
  • Be available to teach live during regular school hours.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students in 1-on-1, small-group, and whole-class settings.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families, fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback, grades, and academic support.
  • Utilize technology effectively, including Canvas, Zoom, and other digital resources.
  • Implement innovative teaching strategies to make learning engaging and accessible for all students.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and academic goals.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and school staff to enhance curriculum delivery and student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, and performance.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and ongoing training sessions.
  • Host/Co-Host a club (virtually) and occasionally attend (in-person) field trips when they are geographically near to your location.
