Job description

Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Speech Language Pathologist covering a maternity leave assignment in North Chicago, conveniently located near Cicero, IL. This full-time, contract position spans from September 4, 2026, through December 11, 2026, offering an enriching experience with a diverse caseload of elementary and middle school students. You’ll be working onsite only, Monday through Friday for a total of 37.5 hours each week, making a meaningful difference every day.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Illinois Speech Language Pathologist license (required)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Previous experience providing speech services in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Confident working with both elementary and middle school students
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect speech-language services to students, aligned with IEP goals
  • Conduct assessments and re-evaluations to determine students’ needs
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor progress
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and district requirements
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP development
  • Collaborate with educational staff to support student communication goals in the classroom
