Job description

This posting is for a Secondary Art Teacher at Clay City Jr./Sr. High School, in Clay City, Ind.  This position is 185-day regular teacher contract.  Start date will be August 3, 2026.  A copy of the CCS Master Contract has been attached for the applicants reference regarding salary and benefits.  All interested parties should complete the online application in its entirety.  Applicants may contact CCHS Principal Michael Owens at owensm@clay.k12.in.us or by phone:  (812) 939-2154 (ext. 2001). 
Position Purpose
To develop students' interest, abilities, talents and skills for artistic expression and creativity in the visual arts, as well as aesthetic understanding and appreciation by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; developing lesson plans; modeling the necessary skills to performing assigned tasks; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.


Certification/License:
IDOE State License in Visual Arts.
Education
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.



Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level and/or subject is a preferred.
