Workforce Pathways & CTE Coordinator/Teacher

Reports To: Principal and/or Superintendent

Classification: Certified Employee

Position Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree

Indiana License with CTE certification/licensure preferred or willingness to obtain.

Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Ability to build partnerships with business and community stakeholders.

Minimum of three (3) years educational or industry experience preferred.

Knowledge of Indiana Graduation Pathways, NLPS, work-based learning, and IDOE CTE requirements preferred.

Nature of Work

The Workforce Pathways & CTE Coordinator/Instructor provides leadership in the development, implementation, and oversight of Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) approved Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways and workforce readiness initiatives. This position supports student success through career exploration, employability skill development, work-based learning opportunities, industry partnerships, and pathway completion.

The coordinator works collaboratively with administration, counselors, teachers, postsecondary institutions, and local employers to ensure students have access to high-quality workforce-aligned educational experiences that support graduation pathways, credentials of value, dual credit, and postsecondary readiness.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

♦ Coordinate and oversee implementation of IDOE-approved CTE pathways and programs of study.

♦ Ensure alignment of curriculum and instruction with Indiana Career Explorer, Graduation Pathways requirements, Next Level Programs of Study (NLPS), and IDOE standards.

♦ Monitor pathway enrollment, concentrator/completer status, credential attainment, and program performance indicators.

♦ Assist students in developing individualized career and postsecondary plans aligned to workforce interests and pathway opportunities.

♦ Collaborate with counselors to support student scheduling and pathway completion.

CTE Instruction & Student Support

♦ Provide instruction within assigned CTE content area(s) as needed.

♦ Integrate employability skills, workplace readiness, and career exploration into classroom instruction.

♦ Support students in obtaining industry-recognized certifications and credentials.

♦ Coordinate remediation and intervention supports for students participating in CTE pathways.

♦ Promote student participation in CTSOs (Career and Technical Student Organizations), internships, apprenticeships, and work-based learning experiences.

Work-Based Learning Coordination

♦ Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, industries, and community organizations.

♦ Coordinate internships, apprenticeships, job shadowing, cooperative education, and other work-based learning experiences.

♦ Conduct workplace visits and maintain required documentation for student placements.

♦ Ensure compliance with IDOE and Indiana Department of Workforce Development requirements related to work-based learning.

♦ Assist students with employability skills including resumes, interviewing, professionalism, and workplace communication.

Program Compliance & Reporting

♦ Maintain program documentation required for IDOE reporting and compliance.

♦ Assist with CTE grant applications, monitoring, and reporting requirements.

♦ Maintain accurate records of certifications, dual credit opportunities, pathway completion, and credential attainment.

♦ Support program reviews and continuous improvement efforts.

♦ Monitor labor market trends and workforce needs to support program development.

Collaboration & Leadership

♦ Collaborate with administrators, counselors, teachers, and regional CTE partners to strengthen pathway opportunities.

♦ Participate in district and regional workforce development initiatives.

♦ Serve as liaison between the school corporation, higher education partners, and business/industry representatives.

♦ Support parent and community outreach related to career pathways and postsecondary opportunities.

♦ Participate in professional development related to CTE, workforce readiness, and IDOE initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

♦ Experience with work-based learning coordination.

♦ Experience with dual credit and industry certification programs.

♦ Familiarity with Indiana Career Explorer and state reporting systems.

♦ Experience working with secondary students in career preparation settings.

Physical Requirements

♦ Ability to travel locally for business and industry visits.

♦ Ability to supervise students in classroom and workplace environments.

♦ Ability to perform duties associated with instructional and supervisory responsibilities.
