TELSThe Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences (TELS) comprises 40 full-time faculty members preparing more than 500 undergraduate and graduate students and 200 students in alternative teacher licensure programs. We prepare students to work in a range of fields across various programs that include Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Equity, Educational Psychology, Elementary Education (with a STEM focus), Reading Education, Learning Analytics, Learning Design and Technology, Middle and Secondary English Language Arts and Social Studies, Multilingual Education/English as a Second Language, and Special Education. Essential Job Duties
Student/ Customer Service (30%)

• Develop and maintain effective instructional planning relationships with fellow full- and part-time staff members, as well as professional, productive interactions with students enrolled in the Elevate program.

Information/ Records Administration (20%)

• Apply in-depth knowledge of student level data sources and additional measures of student performance to improve services and overall program effectiveness

Decision Making (20%)

• Analyze and synthesize multiple sources of data in the context of Program and University policies and procedures, along with a philosophy of inclusion and fostering self-determination and apply solutions to student supports

Program Management/ Program Improvement (15%)

• Engage in reciprocal mentoring with other full- and part-time staff to improve overall program delivery in support of student success

Coordination (15%)

• Communicate and coordinate across a large service delivery team, adhering to agreed upon procedures to achieve program outcomes

Other Responsibilities
In addition to the core responsibilities of this role, there may be occasional opportunities to take on additional duties. This offers an opportunity to build on your skills, explore new areas, and gain a deeper understanding of the department's operations.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications

• Documented experience teaching or delivering instruction to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in an educational setting
• Familiarity with assistive technology and other tools that support academic success
• Knowledge of effective practices in secondary and postsecondary education and training for students with disabilities
• Knowledge of person-centered/ person-driven planning practices
• Knowledge of peer mentorship and allyship for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
