How does the ice rink refrigeration system work?

An ice rink refrigeration system, which is a key responsibility for ice rink refrigeration technicians, works by circulating a chilled brine or refrigerant through pipes beneath the ice surface. This process removes heat from the ice, maintaining a consistent, cold temperature that keeps the ice frozen, while a compressor and condenser unit manage the refrigerant cycle. Proper maintenance and understanding of refrigeration components are essential for ensuring optimal ice quality and system efficiency.
