Location: Hybrid (4-days per week in office) - Candidates must be with 1 hour commute distance from San Francisco CA / Chicago IL / New York NY / Richmond VA / Kansas City MO / Cleveland OH / Charlotte NC / Dallas TX

Type of Employment: Contract

Duration: 12 months

Job Description:

We are seeking an IBM NetCool Engineer with strong experience in IBM Netcool/Omnibus, Linux, Oracle, and enterprise event management to support infrastructure modernization and platform operations.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Netcool/Omnibus (ObjectServer, Probes, Gateways)
  • Strong knowledge of Netcool Architecture (Impact, WebGUI/Dash, Message Bus)
  • 3+ years of Linux (RHEL) administration
  • Working knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL, and performance monitoring
  • Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or Perl
  • Experience with event correlation, alert management, automation, and ITIL best practices

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and support IBM Netcool/Omnibus event management solutions
  • Configure ObjectServer, Probes, event correlation rules, and automation workflows
  • Administer Linux environments and support Oracle backend databases
  • Perform upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Build integrations with monitoring and ITSM platforms using APIs and scripting
  • Develop documentation, runbooks, and operational best practices
