We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application\Middleware Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of ten years of relevant work experience. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in middleware technologies with a focus on: AWS Technologies, Linux, Windows, IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Java, JBoss, SFTP, Dynatrace, IIS, Basic Server Administration, with an emphasis on providing Production Support and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum ten years working in a global environment supporting over 270 clients with various technologies.
  • AWS Certifications or equivalent experience working within AWS
  • Proficiency in middleware technologies including IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Java, JBoss, SFTP, FTP, Dynatrace, IIS, Basic Server Administration
  • Senior Level Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Proficient in AWS services, S3 buckets, EKS clusters, ECS clusters, containers, Kubernetes, and terraform scripting.
  • PowerShell scripting and/or Python a plus
  • Basic knowledge of ServiceNow, Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint
  • Rotational Oncall Required to cover 24/7/365
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to talk to external clients and respond to incidents and compile RCAs.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and have a quick learner mindset.
  • Ability to do indepth analysis within the app\middleware products detecting issues, reviewing server performance and provide recommendations.
  • Experience with Dynatrace a plus and focus on details.
  • Ability to review server event logs, middleware SW logs, and Linux logs.
  • Understanding of Linux and Microsoft Active Directory security and basic security concepts and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of applications hosted on various middleware platforms such as IBM Microfocus Cobol, CICS, IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Java, JBoss, IBM Cognos, IIS, AWS containers, NDM, AWS Connect, LDAP and Kubernetes.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to middleware technologies using Dynatrace alerts\logs, IBM logs, Linux logs and Windows logs.
  • Indepth analysis of performance using native Linux and Windows logs, and Dynatrace or Cloud Watch
  • Monitoring application and infrastructure alerts from Dynatrace and Cloud Watch
  • Basic knowledge of ITL Process as it pertains to IT systems\support\ Incident\Change\Problem Management.
  • Indepth knowledge of Incident, Problem and Change processes within ServiceNow.
  • Ability to Create Root Cause Analysis of any P1 or P2 incident. Understand the value and practice.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Willingness to take ownership and accountability for issues and work for permanent resolutions using best IT practices and principles.
  • Ability to guide\train and document processes that are repeatable by the team. Provide Senior Level guidance to ensure service levels are met.
  • Ability to identify gaps in knowledge and create a process to fill those gaps.
  • Team player
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across the globe to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Addressing security vulnerabilities, creating an execution plan and working with various application\development teams to ensure critical events are addressed timely and plans are in place for quarterly review\execution.

Work Environment:

  • Core hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET
  • On-call support may be required; coverage operates on a 24/7/365 basis.
