Software Dev Engineer - Software Dev Engineer IV
Location: Dallas, Texas (Onsite)
Compensation: $71 - $81 Hourly
Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and deliver large-scale, distributed software applications and services. This role involves participating in the full software development lifecycle, from gathering requirements to testing and documentation. The position requires serving as a technical lead on projects and ensuring solutions align with the overall system architecture.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, test, and deliver large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, and systems.
  • Utilize multi-threaded and distributed programming in Java and C++ within a Linux environment.
  • Gather and analyze business and functional requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Develop robust, scalable, and supportable solutions that integrate with the overall system architecture.
  • Serve as a technical lead on complex projects, adhering to best practice engineering standards.
  • Create comprehensive and usable software documentation.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation.
  • Travel for onsite troubleshooting or project launches as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience will be considered equivalent.
Experience: Candidates with a Master's degree must have one year of experience in a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related role. Experience must include multi-threaded and distributed programming in Java or C++ on a Linux platform.
Technical Skills: Experience must involve JDBC, SQL, Object-Oriented design, and design patterns. Knowledge of middleware messaging systems and Oracle is also required.
