The Used Car Sales Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the dealership's pre-owned vehicle operation, partnering with the General Manager. This includes inventory acquisition, merchandising, pricing strategy, sales performance, profitability, team leadership, and delivering an outstanding customer experience.


The ideal candidate is an energetic, results-oriented leader who understands today's automotive market and has the ability to maximize both sales volume and gross profit while developing a high-performing sales team.



  • Train, coach, and develop a successful used vehicle sales team.

  • Create a positive, accountable, and customer-focused culture.

  • Conduct daily sales meetings, coaching sessions, and one-on-one performance reviews.

  • Motivate the team to consistently achieve and exceed sales objectives.


Manage all aspects of the dealership's used vehicle inventory.



  • Appraise trade-ins accurately and competitively.

  • Purchase vehicles through auctions, wholesalers, and other acquisition channels.

  • Monitor inventory aging and implement strategies to maintain an appropriate inventory turn.

  • Ensure all inventory is properly reconditioned, photographed, and merchandised for maximum online and showroom appeal.

  • Monitor key performance indicators including closing ratios, gross profit, inventory turn, aging, and sales volume.

  • Work closely with the Finance Department to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure compliance with all dealership policies, lender requirements, and applicable laws.

  • Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and promptly.

  • Ensure every customer receives an exceptional purchasing experience.

  • Promote transparency, integrity, and long-term customer relationships.

  • Support dealership efforts to achieve outstanding Customer Satisfaction (CSI) scores.

  • Utilize inventory management tools to maintain competitive pricing.

  • Monitor online vehicle merchandising and digital retail performance.

  • Partner with the General Manager to adjust inventory strategy based on market demand and dealership objectives.

  • Previous dealership experience as a Used Car Sales Manager required, 3-5 years preferred.

  • Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
