3D Hydraulics Modeling Engineer

Benson, MN - Full Time


Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Benson, MN. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be a 3D Hydraulics Modeling Engineer to support the design and integration of complex hydraulic routing systems. This role involves creating detailed 3D models and drawings of hydraulic lines, fittings, and component layouts to ensure robust performance and manufacturability.


Duties:

  • Develop detailed 3D hydraulic line routings using CAD software for various machine platforms.
  • Generate accurate and comprehensive 2D drawings for manufacturing, assembly, and service reference.
  • Collaborate closely with hydraulic system engineers, mechanical designers, and manufacturing teams to optimize layout, routing paths, and component integration.
  • Ensure proper line support, bend radius, clearance, and serviceability of hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain documentation and design standards within PLM systems.
  • Support prototype and production builds by resolving hydraulic packaging and routing issues.
  • Participate in design reviews, incorporate feedback, and implement changes as needed.


Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in hydraulic system modeling and drafting, preferably in the agricultural, construction, or heavy equipment industry.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks) and 2D drawing creation.
  • Understanding of hydraulic fittings, hose/line specifications, and routing principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to create clean, manufacturable designs.


Preferred:

  • Experience working with hydraulic schematics and integrating them into physical layouts.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).
  • Prior involvement in prototype builds or field testing support.
  • Knowledge of industry standards related to hydraulic systems and line installation.
