A hydraulic mechanic can work in a shop, factory, or any other industrial environment. As a hydraulic mechanic, you disassemble and repair hydraulic pumps, motors, and related parts. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment problems and identifying issues with hydraulic systems within larger machines. You assemble new hydraulic parts and actively maintain hydraulic equipment on a scheduled basis. Other duties include working with different mechanics, such as heavy-duty or diesel specialists. You keep records of all repair and maintenance work during your shift. You must also keep up to date on new hydraulic technologies and repair methods.
