Job description

EASTERN EQUIPMENT SERVICES is seeking a Heavy Equipment Service Technician (GEHL DEALER) in Estell Manor, NJ. Both road and shop positions available.

Position Summary

As a Heavy Equipment Service Technician (GEHL DEALER), you will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment to ensure safe performance and maximum uptime. You will perform mechanical inspections, troubleshoot issues, and complete repairs in accordance with established standards and best practices.

This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work efficiently in a service environment, and consistently prioritizes safety while delivering dependable results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment issues using inspection, testing, and troubleshooting techniques, then perform effective repairs.

  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and inspections to identify wear, prevent failures, and ensure equipment readiness.

  • Repair or replace mechanical components including engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, and related systems as needed.

  • Maintain accurate service records and document work performed, parts used, and equipment condition.

  • Follow safety procedures and ensure tools, shop practices, and work areas remain compliant and organized.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience performing mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment or similar industrial machinery.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose faults and determine appropriate corrective actions.

  • Proficiency with basic hand and power tools used in mechanical repair work.

  • Working knowledge of safe work practices and the ability to follow established procedures.

  • Ability to read and understand service documentation and follow repair standards.
